Coach Hire Network is based in the Midlands and arranges coach and minibus hire with professional drivers across the UK through our network of operators. Below you will find what each city is known for and what to plan for when you take a group there.

Each group has different requirements. A school group may need clear timing and structured itineraries, while a corporate client may require early departures and flexible return times. Let us know your priorities when requesting a quote so we can tailor the arrangements accordingly.

Sports supporters travelling to grounds such as Anfield, Villa Park or Murrayfield need to plan around match day road closures and coach parking, and wedding parties often need several runs between a ceremony and a reception venue. Families on a day out can pair a city with a nearby attraction, such as Cadbury World in Birmingham, St Fagans in Cardiff or the National Space Centre in Leicester.

Conference and exhibition groups often travel to the NEC in Birmingham, Manchester Central, the EICC in Edinburgh or the SEC in Glasgow. A private coach from the hotel keeps delegates together on one timetable, which cuts down on late arrivals.

Major UK Cities We Regularly Cover

These cities are hubs for business events, exhibitions, concerts, festivals, university visits and sporting occasions. They're also common choices for school excursions and private group outings.

If you're travelling to a city centre location, we can help you plan suitable drop off and pickup points to keep things running smoothly. For larger groups, coach travel often proves more practical than multiple cars or train tickets, particularly when you're working to a tight schedule.

Coach parking in city centres is limited, so the meeting point matters. In London, coaches use designated bays such as Park Lane, Victoria Embankment and Aldwych, and Cardiff closes roads around the Principality Stadium on match days. Your driver arrives 15 minutes before the scheduled pickup, so choose a spot where the whole group can board safely.

Several cities have clean air or low emission zones that affect coaches, including Birmingham, Bristol and Newcastle in England and Edinburgh and Glasgow in Scotland, and Oxford runs a Zero Emission Zone pilot. Each city page explains the local rules, and London quotes include ULEZ and the Congestion Charge.

Most city pages also cover the surrounding towns, from Bath and Cheltenham near Bristol to Salford, Stockport and Bolton around Manchester, so your group can be collected close to home.

For city centre venues with tight access, a midi coach of 16 to 32 seats is often easier to manage than a full size coach. On event days we coordinate timings around the venue, so tell us kick off or show times and when you want to leave.

Straightforward Planning from Start to Finish

Organising group transport to a busy city is easier when the details are sorted early.

When you contact Coach Hire Network, we'll ask for the key details:

  • Date of travel
  • Pickup and drop off locations
  • Passenger numbers
  • Required times
  • Any events, venues or stadiums you are visiting
  • Kick off, show or event start times, if relevant
  • Any accessibility needs, such as wheelchair access
  • Any special requirements

From there, we coordinate with our operator network and provide a clear quotation.

If your journey includes multiple stops within cities such as London, Manchester or Edinburgh, include that information at the enquiry stage. The more detail we have, the more accurate your quote will be.

We do not publish fixed prices, as every journey depends on distance, vehicle type, duration and availability.

Large groups can travel in one 61 to 72 seat coach or split across two smaller vehicles, which can help with narrow city streets and separate pickup points.

Book early for busy dates. For most city trips, two to four weeks’ notice is usually enough. For peak London and Birmingham dates allow six to eight weeks, and three months or more for the largest events. Edinburgh in August, during the Festival, is one of the busiest times of the year.

However far ahead you are planning, send us your details and we will put together a clear quote for your group trip, whichever UK city you are heading to.
